He sat in his truck, head in his hands and tears steadily rolling down his cheeks. He had no other way to cope. He had no one to confide in, no one he could trust with these feelings. The feeling of overwhelming hopelessness was consuming him once again. There was yet another fight with his wife and compiled with the rest of his issues, it is pushing him over the edge. He starts to consider the forever, consider what awaits in the time after life. What will happen to his mind, his soul, his being. What will people think about him if when he is gone, what will his legacy be? The thoughts swirl and suck him in like a vortex, pulling him further into the depths and darkness. “Will anyone really even care?” He asks aloud. “Maybe at first, but not for long. They will move on and you will just be a distant memory, someone they used to know. Especially her, she is beyond sick of you and your bullshit.” He responded to himself. Chapter 5 My eyes opened slowly. I moved my eyes back and forth, surveying the area around me. “Yep, still dark…” I said curtly This was my 25th sleep cycle. I am certain I was sleeping more and more, which means less time was passing. I still have no idea how long I have been here but based off my crude assumptions I was sleeping three times a day. Staying awake only long enough to eat, handle my personal business and do a few laps around my coffin. I had given into the thought that I would die here. The hope for an escape or rescue was all but dead. I had accepted my fate, like it or not. I sat up and got out of bed. I folded my sheet and blanket then washed myself. After washing up, it was time for food and water. I was nearly out of food, so I was doing my best to eat only one bar at a time, regardless of how much my stomach protested. My water supply was still good, by my count I had about five gallons left. This was pretty good compared to my single remaining box of meal

Chapter 4 I was exhausted and depressed, so instead of doing anything with my “day” I decided to go back to bed. I slowly stumbled across the room and flopped onto the bed. I yanked the blanket off the head of the bed, realized it was still damp and just tossed it to the floor. Normally I would care more, but at this moment, I was defeated. I rolled over in bed and just shut my eyes. Tears still dripped down my checks as I faded back to sleep. He was smiling, just smiling at me. It caught me off guard at first. My brain was foggy and took a good five seconds to register what he was doing. “I told you I was fast” He said, still smiling. “Yeah…. yeah you did” I said confusedly “You thought you could catch me, but you are just TOO SLLLOOOWWWW” He stuck his tongue out after this last word and shook his head at me. “Well, I am here now, and I won’t let you get away again.” I had finally caught on; this is a dream. Chapter 3 Nightmare or not, staying in bed all day worrying about it was not an option. I stood up and instantly could feel the tension in my muscles. I twisted from side to side, bent down to my toes, rolled my head and stretched my arms out as far as they would go. I could hear some of my joints popping and cracking as I moved through the stale dark air. It felt good to stretch out and get the joints moving. The sound my joints made reminded me of something, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. For a moment a memory flickered. It was a sensation more than anything; and was gone before I could even process it. I turned back towards my bed and bent over it. My hands fumbled for the blanket and sheet that had previously been heaped together in a damp mess. I pulled them apart and took the sheet in my hands. Chapter 2 “NOOOOOOOOO!” The scream filled my ears. My eyes opened wide and I shot up. I looked for who was screaming. Turns out it was me; my scream had carried through from the dream and I had startled myself awake. I was no longer in the red world, but instead sitting up in my bed. My arms were holding me up and my fists were tightly clenched. I laid back down and let out a sigh of confusion and exhaustion. My heart was pounding in my ears and I felt as if I had just run the New York City Marathon. That was worse than any alarm clock I had set before. I was relieved it was a dream, but it did not change the fact that I felt sad and somehow responsible for the boy. There was a tiny voice that spoke from the haze of the dream. It told me to look around the room for the boy; maybe he was here, but we both knew he wasn’t. I could still hear his cry for help rattling in my ears as I laid in silence. Nothing felt real about this and at the same time everything was all too real. I brought

“Why am I like this?” He asked himself. “I don’t know why I do these things.” He was referring to his outbursts of course. He had experienced them as long as he could remember. The slightest thing would set him off and he would lose all control. There was a well of anger within him that felt endless. He has spent his life trying to cap the well, but every barrier he put in place eventually got blown off, releasing a high-pressure wave of meaningless destruction. The worst part about it was that it was the people he was closest to that suffered the most. His rage seemed to come out of nowhere and take control before he had a chance to stop it. His stomach would churn, bubble and twist. His heart would pound out of his chest and in his ears. He could feel his temperature literally rise several degrees. His muscles would tense up, teeth would grit and before he knew it the words would spill from his mouth like a damn that had ruptured. His fists would clench and release as he fought back

“Dude! Come on!” I looked around for the voice. A few yards in front of me was a young boy looking at me with a smile painted across his face. “Come on man! Come get me!” He shouted at me happily. The boy was over a foot shorter than I was. He was wearing green basketball shorts and a white tank top. He had short brown hair that curled tightly against his head. He was thin, but not sickly so, he looked very muscular; especially for his age. I could hear his laughter as he looked away and started running. I smiled back and ran after the boy. My legs and arms worked together in perfect harmony as I moved through the air. My feet bounced lightly off the ground as I chased the boy. I looked down at myself and noticed that my outfit nearly matched the young boy’s. My shirt was more of a grey than white, but our shorts appeared to be the same. The thought was gone as quickly as it had arrived, and my focus returned to the boy. “I am coming! You can’t outrun me” I shouted back. The boy was
